The City of Milan joined forces with A2A, the largest Italian multi-utility company, and Nissan to get eight new fast-charging stations installed in Milan. Four other similar stations will be installed in the coming months. The new infrastructure, set up for the final of the UEFA Champions League hosted by Milan on May 28th, integrates the system developed and operated by A2A.
The new charging stations enhance the current infrastructure managed by A2A in Milan which is composed of 34 charging stations accessible to the large public thanks to the E-moving project: Customers of the A2A E-moving service and new subscribers will be able to recharge vehicles at charging stations in the city. Furthermore, the Milan’s charging network can count on 28 Digital Islands: each Island is equipped with 12 aligned charging points. This network of Digital Islands aims at encouraging electric mobility in Milan.
The new fast-charging stations enable a charge of 80% of the battery within 30 minutes and will make the use of electric vehicles easier, hence, helping to reduce pollution emissions.
This initiative led by the city of Milan is the largest initiative in Italy in terms of fast-charging infrastructures installed in a single city (12 in total): before the installation of the 8 new stations, there were only 10 fast-charging stations all over Italy.
It is undoubtedly a huge breakthrough for Milan in becoming a city leader in electro-mobility!
